Barista and Retail Associate

Summary of Responsibilities

• Greeting and interacting with customers in a friendly, professional manner
• Identifying customer needs, preferences and providing appropriate suggestions
• Delivering exceptional sales services for improved customer satisfaction.
• Operating POS while providing accurate and efficient check out services
• Describing menu items and suggesting products to customers
• Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, speciality beverages, and ice cream, efficiently and accurately 
• Cleaning and sanitizing retail, café, and seating areas
• Maintaining standards and all regulatory food safety practices.
• Completing daily opening and/or closing duty requirements as needed
• Keeping the retail areas and café areas of the store fully stocked of merchandise and supplies
• Communicating to managers when stock levels of merchandise and supplies are running low
  

Experience Summary

• Minimum 2 years of previous experience serving customers in a retail, café, or restaurant environment
• Minimum 2 years of previous experience operating Point of Sale Systems and cash handling.
• Previous barista experience as asset

• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
• Ability to take direction and execute as required by management 
• Effective time management and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Highly organized and detail-oriented 
• Willing to learn new skills and product knowledge
• Food and drink preparation and handling

Availability Requirements

• Weekdays and weekends; store hours range from 7:30 AM to 6 PM.
• This is a permanent position (not a summer job)
• Minimum 3 days per week
